RE: Coke Zero 400 from Daytona

What happened to Jr. at the end of the race? His car just didn't seem to have it like it did for the first 140 laps. For the majority of the race, he was as good or better than anyone on the track, then at the end, he fell out of contention and was lucky to finish 8th! And BTW, I'm a Dale Jr. fan. Bagman. Jr said on the radio that the toe-in was out before the last restart and ended up in 8th but had the maximum 10 bonus points for leading the most laps. Dario's main problem was caused by the idiot that ran into him and broke his leg. That idiot was 8 seconds behind and could have missed him at the bottom of the track but ran out of talent.

RE: 2010 Duramax - over 700 lbs-ft?

Since GM is spending $75 million on the 2010 Duramax EPA upgrades they will have to charge at least $10,000 for the 2010 Duramax option to break even since there will be alot less unit sales. I bet many will keep their current diesel pickups for a very long time before selling or trading them in since trade in values dropped so much. Must be back from the piston slap mechanic I see, trolling another good informative post. Have you had a compression check lately? Just because YOU had piston slap does not mean everyone does. Lets make a $1,000 bet or something like that otherwise crawl back in your hole. Still effects the resale as you a master of quoting. whether you have it or not. I just purchased the van and plan on keeping it for 8 years. If the resale value drops to zero after 8 years I am still way ahead if I would have kept the PSD Excursion.

RE: USDA expands ground-beef recall to 5.3 million pounds

Kroger is now facing two different lawsuits in the state of Ohio, following the E. coli outbreak which was connected to ground beef sold by the company. Following the revelation that the beef may be connected, Kroger issued an immediate and voluntary recall. According to local news reports out of Ohio, the latest person to file a lawsuit against Kroger is Amanda Adams, who says she became sick after consuming the Kroger beef. She is seeking $10,000 in damages from the company according to 10TV News in Ohio. Kroger is being blamed and labeled as negligent in the lawsuit, due to the fact that they supplied the tainted ground beef to customers. The lawsuit is also seeking for Kroger to reveal just how the E. coli bacteria made it into the meat. Kroger Faces Lawsuits Following E. Coli Outbreak, Beef Recall

I am down in Orlando Florida on vacation and my most used camera is my Canon TX1 that shoots HD video and 7mp stills. The HD videos are amazing and my two grandsons (5 & 8 YO) love watching the videos on our 17" laptop. It comes with 1080i HDTV cable and our HP laptop also has HDMI output to connect to an HDTV. We could watch HD videos within second by just popping in one of the 8GB SDHC cards into the SDHC port on the laptop.

USDA expands ground-beef recall to 5.3 million pounds

WASHINGTON, July 3, 2008 - Nebraska Beef, Ltd., an Omaha, Neb., establishment is expanding its June 30 recall to include all beef manufacturing trimmings and other products intended for use in raw ground beef produced between May 16 and June 26, totaling approximately 5.3 million pounds, that may be contaminated with E. coli O157 H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced today. This recall is being expanded based on the ongoing epidemiological and traceback investigations of a foodborne illness outbreak. E. coli O157 H7 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in the most severe cases, kidney failure. The very young, seniors and persons with weak immune systems are the most susceptible to foodborne illness. Anyone with signs or symptoms of foodborne illness should consult a medical professional. There are hundreds of diesel owners on these forums who switched from gas because they needed more pulling power. I doubt you can find ONE who switched from diesel back to gas because they needed more power.WRONG.....(sort of)...... you're forgetting about the moron that bought an 8.1 @ distressed auction in Texas, because he needed the $20 Grand or so in money his diesel Excursion brought him so's he could buy gas for his gas hog 8.1. These two must be related by blood somehow...... Those are some of the dumbest moronic postings I've ever read on this or any automotive websites, IM expert opinion. NHRA Top Fuel & Funny Car races shortened to 1,000 ft

As the investigation continues into the tragic accident that took the life of driver Scott Kalitta, NHRA has announced that beginning at the Mopar Mile High Nationals in Denver, Colo., both the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes will race to 1,000 feet instead of the traditional 1,320 feet or one-quarter mile. This is an interim step that is being taken while NHRA continues to analyze and determine whether changes should be made to build upon the sport's long standing safety record, given the inherent risks and ever-present dangers associated with the sport. This interim change was made by NHRA in collaboration with professional race teams. NHRA believes that racing the Top Fuel and Funny Car classes to 1,000 feet will allow NHRA and the racing community time to evaluate, analyze and implement potential changes based on the safety initiatives outlined last week. With the change, fans will still be able to enjoy the sights, sounds and thrill of NHRA nitro racing with speeds around 300 mph and quick elapsed times to 1,000 feet. NHRA.com

RE: Toyota could overtake GM in U.S. sales

"SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Since Cerberus Capital Management took Chrysler private last year, the third of Detroit's Big Three car companies has been engaged in a vanishing act. Its June sales numbers provide a brief glimpse behind the curtain, and they're shocking. Chrysler's sales plunged to 117,457 vehicles last month. That's down 36% from a year ago, and even worse than the 31% industry analysts had predicted. But surveying the carnage from Chrysler's accomplishments at parts suppliers, transport companies and even the regional banks servicing loans to the sector and its employees, it's hard to blame analysts for speculating that Cerberus might be backing away from its vow not to dismantle Chrysler. At this rate, a sputtering Chrysler appears to be rolling ever closer to the chop shop. " Chrysler's vanishing act Yeah, Chrysler is doing just fine.:R

"Chrysler LLC turned in the worst June performance among domestic car makers, posting a sales decline of 36 percent for the month." Chrysler sales plunge 36 percent in June "GM and Ford can at least take some comfort from their well-run foreign operations, which are benefiting from growing demand in China, Russia and Brazil. But Chrysler has no such cushion. Worse, it is planning to replace only half its fleet in the four years after the 2009 model year (compared with Honda’s 72% replacement and Nissan’s 80%). John Murphy of Merrill Lynch believes this is “an active decision by the new owners to rationalise the product portfolio in advance of a break-up or sale.” It may not be long before the Big Three become the Not-So-Big Two."
